Sidetracked from art studies to make a living in the corporate world, after the first basic college courses, I never lost interest in drawing and painting. In the occasional spare hours after work, I became a largely self-taught oil painter.
After retiring to Amelia Island, I have been able to concentrate on painting, exploring a number of subject areas: marine, landscape, cityscape and human forms. Many of my paintings are based on photographs that I have shot either locally or as I traveled around the world. Most of my works are realistic/impressionistic and tell some small story or evoke a memory for the viewer.
Since coming to the area, I joined the Island Art Association (currently, a board member) and the St. Augustine Art Association and have attended several workshops in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. My work has been juried into a number of shows and my paintings are in private collections around the country.
