This artist is a native of Northeast Tennessee, born in Kingsport. She received a degree in education at East Tennessee State University and has continued her art education with workshops under several noted artists. She has been a member of many artist associations. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society as well as the Georgia and Tennessee Watercolor Societies. Her work has been featured in many juried shows and galleries, corporate collections, Water's Edge Magazine, and as set décor for a TV commercial. One of her paintings appeared on the cover of the National Watercolor Society's 2002 "Side by Side" show. She has a wide knowledge of various painting techniques. Sandra maintains that her "love of the outdoors…..guides me and becomes the dominant theme throughout my work."   She moved to Amelia Island in 2002 and is a volunteer "turtle patrol lady" for Ft. Clinch State Park.
